Botanicure Presents Opportunities in Plant-Based Drug Development for Treating Dementia at International Neuroscience Conference

Botanicure participated today in the 4th International Conference on Interdisciplinary Neuroscience, organized by the Taiwan Neuroscience Alliance, engaging with experts and scholars from the fields of neuroscience, clinical dementia care, sleep medicine, and related disciplines. The conference, held from August 21 to 23 at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, brings together multiple professional neuroscience societies and emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration across basic, clinical, and translational research.

 

During the conference, Dr. Hui-Chun Wang, Director of Botanicure, and Dr. Chi-Yu Wu, General Manager, delivered a presentation entitled “New Therapeutic Opportunities Emerging from the FDA’s Guidance on Drug Development for Early Alzheimer’s Disease.” The presentation examined recent developments in early Alzheimer’s disease treatment and evolving international regulatory science, with a particular focus on the development potential of plant-derived active compounds and botanical drugs for the treatment of dementia.

 

Botanicure noted that, as global aging accelerates and the unmet medical need for effective dementia treatments continues to grow, drug development must be supported not only by rigorous scientific evidence and clinical data, but also by alignment with international regulatory requirements and standards for translational medicine.

 

Through cross-disciplinary engagement at the conference, Botanicure will continue to strengthen its neuroscience research strategy and advance the development of plant-based therapeutics from the discovery and characterization of natural materials and bioactive compounds to standardization, clinical validation, and international drug development. The company aims to identify new opportunities for Taiwan’s biotechnology industry to participate in the global market for innovative treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
